2018 All-Star Results

BREMERTON — North Kitsap’s Zac Olmsted and Olympic’s Jaiden Mosley wanted one final chance to face each other on the basketball court.

They got it Tuesday during the West Sound Senior All-Star Basketball doubleheader at Olympic College’s Bremer Student Center.

Olmsted’s Team Puget Sound held off Mosley’s Team Cascade 77-72 in the feature game.

“It was a real good time,” said Olmsted, who scored a game-high 18 points. “It’s your last game in Kitsap, you want to leave with a win.”

Olmsted and Mosley, best friends who grew up playing on the same AAU team, didn’t mind going toe-to-toe during the game. They often guarded each other as a sign of mutual respect and competitiveness.

“I was glad we weren’t on the same team,” Olmsted said. “We were able to go at it one last time.”

“I’m disappointed that we lost, but I like the competition,” Mosley added.

Central Kitsap’s Dominque Telemaque led Team Cascade with 15 points, while Mosley and Central Kitsap’s Dylan McConnell added 13 apiece. North Mason’s Trey Fisher scored 17 to help Team Puget Sound prevail.

In the skills competition, Bainbridge’s Charlie Hoberg won the hot shot shootout and Bremerton’s James Reed won the 3-point contest.

In the girls’ game, Team Cascade won 39-34. Olympic’s Kiki Mitchell and Kingston’s Karleigh Gomez led the victors with eight points apiece. Central Kitsap’s Vanessa Davies scored 11 for Team Puget Sound.

Skills competition winners were Kingston’s Avy Hiner (hot shot shootout) and Central Kitsap’s Olivia Krog (3-point contest).
